So my roommate has a power strip…only two of the outlets on it work for some reason or another. I had my rechargeable batteries and my laptop plugged in last night. However, my roommate needed to plug her laptop in, which was fine since mine had been plugged in for awhile. To unplug my laptop, she had to unplug the battery charger as well. Now, this is the strange part….we couldn’t plug anything back in! We tried and tried but nothing would go in!! It was so weird! We still can’t get anything plugged in so we are sharing the one outlet by my bed (the outlet by the sink light doesn’t really work)…I have a power strip but my roommate doesn’t have an adapter to the US plugs so it is no help! We just don’t understand how we could have two things plugged in one minute and the next, we can’t plug anything in!
Every morning, the maintenance people here sweep the patio area in between all the buildings….they don’t have brooms like we have in the US but they look like Harry Potter brooms, no joke! It is hilarious! A wooden handle with a bundle of sticks attached to one end! I love it! I smile every time I hear or see them sweeping!

Today after class I went to Ile St. Marguerite. It is a small island right near Cannes; we can see it from the beach! It only takes about 10 or 15 minutes by boat to get there. First we visited the Fort Royal where the man in the iron mask was held prisoner from 1687 to 1698. It was cool but not my favorite part of the trip. After the museum/fort, we walked through the woods and along the cost of the island…this was awesome! It was really peaceful and just nice to get into some nature! Near the end of the trip we came upon a spot that reminded me of the north shore! I wish I could have spent the whole trip there! The big rocks, crashing waves, pine trees…so nice! Also, there were a bunch of stone table and stools near this awesome area of the Island. For senior seminar, we are reading “The Once and Future King” by T.H. White which is about King Arthur so we all sat around one table pretending to be King Arthur and the nights of the round table! It was great! It is so close that I will probably go back...

Tonight my mom called me on skype. Turns out she was talking to my grandma on the phone so she put her on speaker phone and I got to talk with her! It was awesome! I love technology! It is so cool that I can sit in my room in Cannes, France and
talk to my grandma who lives in rural MN!
